Model Stair Stringers in Tekla
I have found this the best way. It's very similar to the
way I would do it in 2D cad.

1) Draw in grids as shown plus on plan for outside of stringers.
2) Set x.y.z to their standard direction. Pick FLT10*200 set ends offset to -200
100 and right, front, front,
On elevation draw in flat from point A to B. Move stringer up by 12 mm
3) Check position in plan. I like to put the stringers on the inside of the grid
lines.
4) Trim top of stringer back 10 mm with vertical cut line.
5) Apply con 103 fin plate to top. Remember you have to play about to get it
flush
with top of pfc. Put fin plate to inside of stringer. Line cut stringer flush
with top of pfc.
6) Cut 2 planes with line cut at base. Insert flat bar column. Do a con.1042 to
put base on flat column.
Explode base con. Remove column and weld plate to stringer. No need to do this
Tekla have just advised
that con 1038 will do this ie put a base plate on stringer.
7) Mirror stringer with base plate to other grid line. One can now draw in the
treads.
8) Next I intend to draw in one 65x6 flat bar end, cut chamfer & bolt group to
stringer.
9) draw in front 30x5 nosing. Call this the main part by welding 65x6 end plate
to it.
10) Make this into Custom Component - Detail so I can use on any job. Export to
firm folder.
11) I'll explode then mirror 65x6 to other stringer. Adjust length of nosing
flat and copy backwards.
7) Mirror stringer with base plate to other grid line. One can now draw in the
treads.
8) Next I intend to draw in one 65x6 flat bar end, cut chamfer & bolt group to
stringer.
9) draw in front 30x5 nosing. Call this the main part by welding 65x6 end plate
to it.
10) Make this into Custom Component - Detail so I can use on any job.
11) I'll explode the mirror 65x6 to other stringer. Adjust length of nosing flat
and copy backwards.
12) The nosing flat wouldn't attach to custom component. As the size and length
changes it can be put
in for each job. uel no. is g3.uel and it's in my firm folder after I exported
it. After you click export
it goes to the current model folder and one has type in g3.

Treads are 275 mm wide 30x5 flat pitched at 33.75 mm.

Open Treads from plain plate, durbar and
perforated plate.
Go to profile catalogue>others pick BLZ
insert these values BLZ280*100*5 this is assuming plate is 5 mm thick.
Once this is positioned correctly between stringers apply connection 116 with
50*50*6 rsa to both sides of tread.
Make sure the RSA Is symmetrical about centre of 280 mm size. Put a bit of
transparency to the plate if it's
perforated. Go to elevation on stringer and make sure the view depths catch both
stringers. Copy treads with
end angles by going, riser and number of treads. Put a note on GA and detail
drawings to say it's perforated or
durbar and the job is done. The screenshot is not quite correct as the leg depth
of the front and back should be the same on the instruction above.
